A typical Reading & Discussion seminar serves 15-20 people. Participants retreat for a full day, with lunch serving as further opportunity to discuss issues raised in the seminar. Participants receive the readings approximately one month before the seminar.

The host organization recruits participants, secures a meeting space (preferably off-site, in keeping with a retreat), and provides lunch. OHC staff makes all arrangements with the facilitators, supplies promotional material, and distributes the texts to each participant. If desired, OHC can also help to secure continuing education credit.
