League Park: Historic Home of Cleveland Baseball, 1891-1946

Morris Eckhouse, a baseball historian and an administrator for the Baseball Heritage Museum, will discuss the evolution of Cleveland’s League Park since 1950. The discussion will include the park’s designation as a Cleveland landmark and placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Abandoned in 1947, the park has since been restored. It was rededicated on August 23, 2014, as the Baseball Heritage Museum with an outdoor recreational baseball facility. Exckhouse will also speak about the individuals who were key to the 1891 baseball stadium’s revitalization.
