Yes, but OHC does not require any specific format. Your group may wish to incorporate its findings into a publication, photo essay, or newspaper article. In other cases, you may develop an exhibit or other public display. OHC also encourages groups to hold one or more public meetings to share the goals and results of the project with the community. A group may apply for additional support from OHC for more elaborate follow-up programs such as traveling exhibits or teacher workshops. A Community History project must offer a public repository, such as a local library, the opportunity to hold copies of any catalogues, indexes, or publications created.

Your organization might request funding for costs including, but not limited to:
|
 |
an honorarium for the humanities scholar;
|
 |
salary for researchers, clerical assistants, technicians, or others who will be hired to conduct project activities;
|
 |
salary for the time that the project director and other staff of the project sponsor devote to the furtherance of the project;
|
 |
travel reimbursement for necessary out-of-town travel;
|
 |
the cost of copying photographs, archival materials, reports, etc.;
|
 |
the purchase of microfilm documents for research purposes;
|
 |
supplies used for the project, such as audio tapes, acid-free storage boxes, and protective sleeves for photographs;
|
 |
rental of equipment.

| The following items may be included in your budget as part of your cost share. However, Community History grant funds cannot be used for: |
 |
the purchase or restoration of a building or facility; |
 |
the purchase of equipment costing $5,000 or more; |
 |
out-of-state travel. |

|
 |
A grant proposal will be reviewed by the Ohio Humanities Council and judged by:
|
 |
the projects importance to the community and others;
|
 |
 |
consistency with professional standards and practices of the proposed methods of research and/or preservation;
|
 |
the services of a qualified humanities scholar and/or other professionals as appropriate;
|
 |
a reasonable timetable;
|
 |
an appropriate plan for sharing the results of the project;
|
 |
the lasting value of the project and ability to serve as the basis for future activities;
|
 |
the reasonableness of the projects budget.
