Ohio Humanities has announced the hiring of Michael Straughter as the new Outreach Coordinator beginning January 11. Straughter replaces Mark Holbrook who has accepted the position of Executive Director at the Marion Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. During Holbrook’s tenure, Ohio Humanities launched a new logo and graphic brand, implemented a monthly E-News, and premiered a new web site. Executive Director Pat Williamsen says Holbrook, “________________________________________________________”.
Straughter comes to Ohio Humanities after 17 years of providing strategic communications services. His experience includes time with the Olentangy Local, Gahanna-Jefferson, and Columbus school districts. Straughter will work to continue the organization’s goal of effectively communicating what Ohio Humanities does and how it that work is relevant to Ohioans. Williamsen says, “having a career communications professional like Straughter will ensure a seamless transition as we better engage the public through the our web site, E-News, and other communications streams.”
