Hamilton, Ohio, founded in 1791, is located in Butler County along the Great Miami River. Hamilton was named after Alexander Hamilton, the first United States Secretary of the Treasury. The town grew into a significant manufacturing city which produced equipment for the miles of surrounding farms during the nineteenth-century. Today, Hamilton has a significant a presence in the field of business, government, history and community sites within the Cincinnati-Dayton metroplex.
