Ohio Humanities is committed to supporting our partners across the state. Historic sites and museums are vital to their local communities, providing employment for individuals, contracting with local businesses, and attracting tourists. These institutions are part of the $878 billion domestic creative economy across the United States. Right now their future is in danger. With their doors shut, our partners are losing millions of dollars of critical revenue every month.

If they are to survive, they need help not just from the private sector but also from the federal and state governments. Unfortunately, not everyone in Washington and Columbus is aware of the critical role these organizations play in our state. Our partners need a strong voice to tell their story, one with the ability to be heard by decisions makers.

Ohio Humanities is that voice.

Our advocacy efforts rely on the generosity of our donors. Your financial support provides us with the resources to educate lawmakers about the unique work our partners do, helping them understand the deep impact these institutions have on local economies. The gift you make today will help us advocate for our partners so that they can survive this current crisis and be in a position to continue to serve Ohioans long into the future.

On June 10, the Columbus Foundation will conduct The Big Give, a 25-hour opportunity to support Ohio Humanities and have your gift enhanced by the Foundation. Giving is easy. Starting at 10:00am on June 10, simply go to columbusfoundation.org/checkout/checkout-details?PortraitId=439&PortraitType=Nonprofit and select “Ohio Humanities.”

Our time to support and advocate for public humanities organizations across Ohio is now. Decisions are being made today that will have long term consequences for our partners. Join with us as we make our voice heard. Make a gift to Ohio Humanities on June 10 during The Big Give.
