Ohio Humanities Announces New Members of Board of Directors

Ohio Humanities Executive Director Rebecca Brown Asmo announced this week the addition of Dr. Vladimir Kogan, Dr. Kevin Scott Miller, and Mary Jane Pajk to the organization’s Board of Directors.

“Ohio Humanities is excited to add these three new board members to support the strategic direction and mission of the organization,” said Brown Asmo. “We appreciate Governor DeWine and his team for thoughtfully selecting Dr. Kogan and Dr. Miller, who understand the value of the humanities in the lives of everyday Ohioans, and we were excited to have the opportunity to participate in the BoardLead Program with JP Morgan Chase and Ms. Pajk.”

Vladimir Kogan, Associate Professor of Political Science at the Ohio State University, was appointed to the board in July by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. Kogan holds a PhD, MA, and BA in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego. He also serves as the Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Ohio State University Department of Political Science and as an Associate Professor by courtesy in the John Glenn College of Public Affairs.

Kevin Scott Miller was appointed by Governor DeWine in August. He holds an EdD from Nova Southeastern University, an MS in Secondary Education from Indiana University, and a BS in Education from Defiance College. A former teacher and administrator, Miller currently serves as Director of Governmental Relations for the Buckeye Association of School Administrators.

Mary Jane Pajk comes to the Ohio Humanities Board from BoardLead, a national program that matches corporate leaders with nonprofit organizations serving the community. Pajk serves as Executive Director, Marketing Communication and Engagement at JP Morgan Chase & Co. She holds a BA in Journalism from the Ohio State University and has previously worked in public relations and communications for the Central Ohio Transit Authority, Franklin University, American Electric Power, and Battelle.

Ohio Humanities board members serve as advocates for the public humanities by promoting the mission and vision of Ohio Humanities to sustain vibrant communities and foster lifelong learning. More information can be found on our website at ohiohumanities.org/about/board.
