“Let Ohio Women Vote” with Kimberly Hamlin
March 16, 2022 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
The League of Women Voters of Oxford will host a virtual program titled “Let Ohio Women Vote!” 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 16.
Kimberly Hamlin, Miami University professor of history and global & intercultural studies, will cover the highlights of the fight for women’s suffrage. It is based on the film Let Ohio Women Vote, which was funded by Ohio Humanities to celebrate 100 years of the 19th Amendment. The program can be accessed through this link.
The documentary originally premiered on Monday, Nov. 15 on ThinkTV16 in Dayton and CET in Cincinnati as well as on the stations’ livestreams, PBS Video App and YouTube. It is still available through streaming outlets, and we are encouraging you to watch the film before the evening’s presentation, however, it’s not required.
Hamlin will provide insight into how the women featured in the film were chosen, the background stories of those women and what lessons were learned that provide guidance for women today. This event is free and open to the public.
