In September 2026, the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) and the National Council on Public History (NCPH) will hold a joint conference in Providence, Rhode Island to connect professionals across the public history field. The conference will feature joint program and host committees, joint sessions, joint tours, and many jointly-sponsored or -organized events, rather than separating content out into “NCPH” vs. “AASLH” sessions, bringing the organizations’ overlapping attendee bases together into conversation at every possible opportunity.

Main conference activities, including concurrent sessions, will be held at the Rhode Island Convention Center in downtown Providence, Rhode Island.
